The Supreme Court has upheld the election of the Okezie Victor Ikpeazu (OVI) as the governor of Abia State.
Okezie’s election was affirmed after a unanimous judgment by the panel headed by Justice Paul Galinje. He affirmed that the appellate court was right to have discharged the case.
In delivering the judgment, Justice Paul held that according to the law, the petitioner ought to tender the voters’ register, relay the document to the specific area where the documents were affected rather the evidence of card reader tendered by the appellant.
The Justice concluded that the appellant failed to lead realistic evidence in confirmation of their case and thereby dismissed the case.
