The Nigerian Police, Imo State command has debunked the news that the top Nigerian Music Artist, Duncan Mighty, was abducted.
On denying the claim, the Imo State police in a statement on Saturday, the police spokesperson by name Ikeokwu Godson, said the Music Artiste was not kidnapped by anyone, rather, he was arrested for fraud.
He further said that the, operatives of the command arrested top Music Artiste, Duncan Mighty on an allegation of fraud.
“This was followed a petition written by an upcoming Rap Artiste M2, who stated that the Imo State Government under Rochas Okorocha, through the office of the SA on Entertainment, entered into a deal with Top Music Artist “Duncan Mighty” to manage, promote, arrange collaboration with other top Artistes and sign M2 under Young Wealth record label which is owned by Duncan Mighty.
On the process, an agreement was reached with a fee of N11m which was paid to him. “Though, after collecting the payment, he refused to carry out his own task from the deal.
Based on this, the artiste was arrested and he affirmed having such agreement and collecting the fund. Duncan said that he can only refund the money if the contract was terminated. He was released on bail on self-recognizance.
Thus, a letter was assessed by the representative of the former governor which terminated the contract to enable him reimburse the money.
The Top Music Artist then absconded, and all efforts made to get in touch with him proved abortive. Finally, a warrant of arrest was issued, that led to his arrest in the early hours of today being 14th December, 2019.
