The Nigerian Senate has summoned Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, over the new visa on arrival policy which was announced by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This was disclosed on on Tuesday, 17th December, 2019 according to PUNCH.
The Minister appears before the Senate alongside Muhammed Babandede, the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service.
This was sequel to a point of order raised by the lawmaker representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Olubunmi Adetunmbi.
The lawmaker had strained the attention of his colleagues to the fact that the executive did not carry the legislature along before the policy was implemented.
President Buhari proclaimed the new policy in Egypt few days ago while attending an event in the county.
