A petrol tanker has just subsided and is currently spilling its liquid contents along Ozumba Mbadiwe road in upscale Victoria Island Area of Lagos State.
The incident took place right in front of Quilox – the ritzy Nightclub always packed full with upwardly mobile young men and women.
Our correspondent reports that the members of the public and residents are currently scooping the liquid contents into jars and gallons from the nearby gutters,.
The incident occurred at exactly 5:00 hours on Friday, 13th December, 2019 and has resulted in gridlock on Ozumba and other adjoining routes of the town.
The general public is advised to use alternative routes as relevant government agencies arrive the scene to cordon the area and avert a possible fire outbreak.
Petrol tanker accidents are common in Lagos state, which is the Nigeria’s most populous city and commercial capital.
Few months ago, a similar incident occurred, which burnt more than a dozen of cars and took over 10 lives along the Otedola bridge, the good news here is that, there was no fire outbreak this time.
