NIMASA Remitted N16 Billion To The Federation’s Account – DG, Peterside


Dakuku Peterside, the Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, has said that the agency remitted about Sixteen Billion Naira (N16bn) into the Federal Government’s consolidated account in the year 2019.

The Director-General of Nigerian Maritime, who made the disclosure at a recent event, said that the agency generated the amount from the new improved ship registry, which accounted for increased tonnage and annual maritime forecast. 

Peterside said; this accounts for the Sixteen Billion Naira (N16bn) it contributed to the nation’s consolidated revenue account as at the month of October 2019.

The Maritime Director-General further said that the government will continue to support the maritime sector because on it rests opportunities for wealth creation and economic growth.
