Three Rescued By Police From Abductors After Six Days In Hostage


The Spokesperson of the Kogi State Police Command said its men rescued three abducted persons in Lokoja area of the state from their abductors after six days in their custody.

According to William Aya, the Kogi state Police PRO, he said; officers on Saturday rescued Abdulraq Mohammed, Abdulraq Anataku unhurt and Mohammed Salisu Cache.

He said that the victims were kidnapped at about 2:15pm on 30th December, 2019 at Eika/Itakpe junction, along Lokoja-Okene Road, they were travelling in a vehicle from Lokoja when abductors opened fire on their vehicle and killed one of them by name; Mrs Afusat Suberu and after that abducted the three.

The Police PRO said that the victims regained their freedom when a joint team of operatives from Federal Anti-Robbery Squad Special Forces, Police Mobile Force as well as conventional police officers were mobilised for a massive manhunt for them.

William said that the movement led to the safe release of the victims from a thick forest where they were kept by the abductors.

Mr. Ede Ekpeji The state Commissioner of Police, said that the police would continue collaborating with other security agencies to make sure the state is safe and secured.

William said; after some rigorous pressure from the team of operatives, the abductors released all the victims unharmed.
